In a year coloured by the nation’s voice to parliament referendum, Working Voices was conceived to reassert the agency of Indigenous voices within the contemporary art sector. How artists and arts professionals, creative partners and communities choose to make art and engage with their audiences is the focus of this issue. Featuring intimate cross-cultural studio exchanges and new curatorial approaches, reviews and profiles, Working Voices recognises the ongoing collaborations that lie at the heart of any enduring creative project—including the essays and conversations published here.
